The Red Kangaroo
Ride with me, Goddess.
Let my old self fall away.
Plant the new spark in your light
so I can born again.
You ride the wild mind.
You take the seed of my old self,
my pride, my noise, my unfinished prayers.
You carry it into your womb of fire.
Goodbye horse, my wounded guide
Thank you for the blood and ride
Lay your body in the red red dust
Turn my clinging into trust
From your death a new one grows
Strange red fire that nobody knows
Five legged child of sky and flame
Red kangaroo, I rise in your name
Goddess belly glowing like the morning heat
Something moves inside her with a triple beat
Not a slave, not a beast of pain
But a jump of spirit breaking every chain
Goddess whispers in my ear so slow
“Die again each time you grow”
Old form breaks, new form born
Night to seed to crimson dawn
Goodbye horse, sacred death
Thank you for my living breath
Goddess rides this wild one through
I am born as red kangaroo
Ride me, goddess, take it all
Let this tired old body fall
Drink my pride, my rage, my sore
Birth the beast I came here for
Ride me, goddess, break my shell
Turn my stable into spell
Let my endings feed your womb
So new forms rise from my tomb
Ride me goddess, take it through
Kill this horse, make me new
From my death and burning womb
Birth the red kangaroo
